About

Kodak Ultramax 400 is a versatile consumer-grade color negative film balanced for daylight. It performs well in a variety of lighting conditions, from bright outdoor environments to dim indoor settings. Thanks to its T-grain technology, it offers relatively fine grain for a film of this sensitivity while maintaining good optical sharpness and rich color saturation.

Marketed under the names Max or Ultramax, this film replaced Kodak Gold 400, which was produced from 1997 to 2007. Since its introduction in 2007, Kodak Ultramax 400 has remained one of the most popular films among amateur and casual photographers.

It delivers balanced results in daylight, cloudy conditions, and flash photography. The film is especially known for its warm, "golden" skin tones, particularly for subjects with European skin types. It also maintains a relatively fine grain structure, making it a reliable choice for everyday photography.
