About
CineStill 800 Tungsten is a color negative film produced using the fresh stock of Kodak Vision3 500T film. The ‘Premoval’ technology, patented by CineStill, allows to remove remjet layer from the original film and then develop this specially treated emulsion using the standard C-41 process. Once the remjet layer is removed, the film is cut, packaged in 35mm / 36 exposure rolls as well as the Type 120 rolls and then it can be shot and developed as the usual photographic film.
The first batch of this film was manufactured in 2012 by a small company in the US. Within the first year it gained great popularity and became legendary. The film is characterized by a moderate grain size and expressed halation – red halos around bright light sources and high- contrast edges. The film is designed specifically for tungsten studio lights, but can be shot in any light, using conversion filters or by adjusting the white balance during optical printing or scanning.
